There are a few steps you need to follow to take after launched your app:

1.   Sign up for App Store Analytics

To track app progress accurately, you need to first sign up for an analytics tool. There are number of tools available that can perform a subset of functions, however the two AppAnnie and MobileDevHQ are considered to be most worthy to be trusted.

“Words of Mouth.”  Increase social sharing for your app is another one of the most important ways for a greater reach. Share relevant content with your audience on a regular basis to keep them updated.

3.   Build a Website

I always use this term in my presentation in mobile marketing that “Mobile is great and Apps are amazing but the website still matters.” Whenever a user searches Google for your app they will find both your app’s detail page and your website home page. If users land on your website page, it will be a great tool to convert them into potential users.

4.   App Store Optimization

It is much like to optimize your website for search engine. Your App also needs to be optimized for the App Store. It is very important to make sure your app has right Title and description so user can easily find it. Including ASO in your marketing strategy will boost your app growths.

  1. Its good to have a strategy in place for all online project. App launch should not be exempted. The competition for apps is wide and large so standing out requires 'stand out' strategies.
The pre-launch and post-launch ideas shared here are in order. They are very clear and practical.
Nevertheless, success of any app in the marketplace will depend on the viability and value it will provide for the market and users respectively!
I left the above comment in as well
