How to Protect Your Website from Internet Hackers?

Internet Hackers

First, I’d like to say how much I enjoy Seogdk and all its valuable information. I particularly recommend this article on making your website friendly to both search engines and users. It’s an honor to guest post here!

Hackers are contemporary bank robbers, especially if you’re a person who does business online. They come into your space, armed to the teeth with their tactics and internet knowledge, and they make demands and threaten to hurt you and your business. But with help from a little bit of common sense and a whole lot of sensible advice, you can make sure that your website remains protected from malicious hackers!

Make a Secure Password

Just like having a good lock on a sturdy door is an effective way to prevent thieves from entering a building, a secure password is the first step to preventing unwanted access by hackers. A strong password usually consists of a mix of letters, numerals, and special characters, and ideally includes no repetitions. Secure passwords are usually difficult to guess and may appear random. However, hackers may still use a dictionary attack or a similar approach to try to breach the security in place.

Dictionary Attack

The most important feature of a secure password is that it changes often. Also, don’t use the same password for your email, bank accounts, databases, and/or website servers, or hackers who crack one will have access to the others. Have a variety of passwords for all of these different accounts. This makes it harder for hackers to gain total access to all of your websites and information.

Keep Your Software Updated

While this may seem like a no-brainer, software updates are crucial for website security. Hackers are always producing new software and techniques, which means that you should always be ready to deal with whatever they bring. The software on your computer, as well as any software related to your website, should be updated as often as possible.

Internet Security Tips

There are a couple ways to ensure that your software is updated on time. First, you can set up automatic recurring updates for your operating system. This means that your computer will check for new updates as often as you want it to, and it will do this automatically. As for individual programs, there are tools available online that will check if the rest of your software is using the most current version if you are concerned that you may have missed an update.

Use a VPN to Keep Your Information Private

VPNs (Virtual Private Networks) are programs that keep your internet browsing and input totally private. VPNs are also useful for changing your virtual location to access sites that may be blocked in your region. In terms of website security, VPNs keep important information, such as passwords and server access points, out of the hands of hackers by encrypting every bit of data that is sent through your connection to the internet. While some VPNs may detract from your speed, there are several fast VPNs that are designed to handle a large volume of information and input.

Don’t Give Away Too Much Information in Your Error Messages

Error messages are often overlooked by website owners, but they are a wealth of security information for hackers. Every time that you have a problem with a password or other security issue, you are prompted to send an error message. You should be very vague in these error messages so that hackers can’t glean any information about your website and security measures from your message.

Hacking Protection Techniques

When writing an error message, it’s important to never ever mention your passwords or other security features that you have in place. In other words, don’t say whether the username or the password is incorrect in the error message. If you do, then the hacker will know that they have at least one piece of login information correct. While this may seem a bit like a no-brainer, people often forget that even their error messages exist in a space that is accessible to hackers.

Run a Website Security Check

After you’ve taken some extra security measures for your website, put your methods to the test by running a website security test. These tests are offered by several companies, and they are not very expensive. These checks will let you see where the weak spots are in your defense, and how to patch up any holes in your security. Often these website security check programs will provide tips for adding security to your website as well.

While hackers can pose a serious threat to the well-being of your website, many of their tactics can be prevented or mitigated by applying these simple security tips!

How to Use Least Visitor Count Long Tail Keywords?

Long Tail Keywords

As long-tail keywords are trending now these days, many bloggers tend to use them. Even beginners make use of them in blog posts and make some mistakes. If we want to draw huge traffic with long-tail keywords, there should be a few things taken into consideration. I will discuss them further in this article. Moreover, I will educate you on a few mistakes that usually beginners make while choosing the right long-tail keywords.

What are Long Tail Keywords?

Long-tail keywords are more specific keywords than generic keyword phrases. They contain more than 2 words and often precisely specify the searcher’s query. These keywords generally draw less traffic, but most of the traffic which comes from them has the capability of higher conversions.

The great tragedy is that most of the newbies do not know how to use long-tail keywords. Therefore, in this post, I am going to elaborate on how to find long-tail keywords and use them to optimize your post. We will understand the concepts through the two scenarios which would help you to easily understand the real concept behind the Long tail keywords. In addition, you will learn the strategy of using these keywords in the right place and in the right quantity. Before going ahead, let’s learn the LT keyword research process.

How to find Long-tail Keywords?

Searching these keywords become easy with the help of free tools. I personally use UberSuggest as it’s a handy tool to search LT keywords. In the search box, you need to simply put your base keyword, and then it shows all the related keywords. Now the real work begins from here. You have to copy all the keywords into an Excel sheet and simply erase the redundant entries. So now simply copy all the keywords and paste them into Excel. You would need to remove copy entries. Here you go.

Data tab>>Data Tool>>Remove Duplicates

Now copy one by one all the remaining keywords in the Google Keyword Planner and collect the relevant keywords having low competition and high searches.

Now the question will arise in your mind where is the process to use these keywords? I am coming to this point. We take two scenarios that will help you to easily understand where and how much quantity shall be used in your content.

Scenario 1:

Let’s assume you are writing content for a magazine that is in need of targeting thousands of people. The more readers you have, the more revenue you can generate via content. If you search 5 LT keywords having monthly searches of 100, then the total count becomes 5x100 = 500. The content can only draw the traffic of 500 visitors maximum and it is not possible that all the visitors will come to your blog/website. As a solution to this problem, you should increase the number of LT keywords. Now if the quantity has increased from 5 to 30 keywords and each keyword has an average of 100 visitors’ value, then the total visitor count becomes 30X100= 3000 which is comparably a big figure.

Scenario 2:

If anybody is running a local business, then we have to focus on the different strategies apart from the above. For example, a car maintenance shop has to draw customers only from a specific area. If we work on approx 50 keywords and each keyword has a search count of 60, then we are actually targeting 50X60 = 3000 visitors in a month. It is not possible for local businesses to offer services to a huge number of people because it has limited resources and the total number of working days will also be less. If the shop mechanics handle 30 clients in a day and works for 30 days and the conversion rate is 40% of 3000. Nevertheless, they cannot offer services to 1200 people while every mechanic eventually takes leave for a month.

The straight equation for the local business is narrowing down the quantity to 5 keywords which have a visitor count of approx 150 each. Now the overall number of visitors will be 5X150 = 750 and if the conversion rate is 50%, then the shop owner will get the chance to serve 375 customers, which is a significant figure. You may increase the number of keywords according to the need, but not as much as that it will generate more inquiries and the shop is not ready to deal with them.

These were two scenarios through which anyone can easily understand the allocation of long tail (LT) keywords in order to get maximum benefits.

Content Marketing: 5 Steps to Build a Massive Audience

Content Marketing

Content Marketing means creating & sharing useful free content to attract & convert prospects into clients, and clients into repeat buyers. The sort of content you share is highly related to what your business or what you offer; in other words, you are educating individuals so that they know, like & trust you enough to do business with you.

Here are the 5 steps to build a massive audience through content marketing.

Find Your Content Sweet Spot

You should care about your topic to hold the audience's attention. The most successful and effective content comes from people who've identified both:

Their passion: what they love
Their skills: what they know

Definitely, there is not always a perfect overlap between skills and passion, but there could be some. That perfect overlapping area is called your sweet spot & that is where you would like to start to focus your content-generating efforts.

Find Your Content Tilt

Successful and effective content marketing implies serving others 1st, not yourself, so if your content sweet spot does not align with the demands & the interests of your community, it most likely is not going to attract a lot of eyeballs or wallets.

Tilting your content usually means tweaking your focus so it adjusts to an area of opportunity in the community, which falls within your sweet spot. Even with the bang of content on the internet nowadays, there are still several areas that are not being served effectively. If you are able to tilt your content focus to be the only one, which serves the niche better than anyone else. You can become an authority, which attracts an audience & keeps them connected all the way through to transform into clients.

Build Your Base

Before starting to see the business benefits from your content, you have to build a base audience. This requires time for every person, so it is vital to be patient & set sensible expectations both for your key stakeholders & for yourself.

In order to entice an audience, you have to generate a content hub for them. While you'll need to promote & publish your content to a number of destinations to get traction, your content hub or base is your main platform where publishing takes place & it ought to be a place you own, just like your newsroom or blog.

Harvest Your Audience

While the primary focus until now has been to attract new eyes to content, it is crucial to pay attention to retaining those eyes. The worldwide web is flooded the content these days & people have very short attention spans, so it is vital to keep individuals coming back.

The key to staying unforgettable with your target audience is to maintain constant regular connections by transforming them into subscribers. While it would possibly not be the trendiest technique in digital marketing, the subscriber list is the gold standard when it relates to building a subscriber base.

The most effective way to keep expanding your list is to make it dead simple to be a part of. Visible links on your website template cross-linked in the blog article & on your social media are essential. Be sure to thoroughly examine all your subscription forms as well as cut down needed fields to the bare requirements, as a lot of form fields are conversion killers.

Broaden Your Offerings

While you should not waver in your topic aim, it is smart to branch out into several formats for your message, as this can help you to both achieve a new audience & reinforce your authority.

Content marketing professionals pursuing a model of content diversification that includes:

Personal content:

     Blog
     Public speaking
     Book

Business content:

     Digital
     In-person
     Print

Conclusion

In the digital marketing world, business success largely depends on the audience. The above described these 5 steps will definitely help you to generate a massive audience through content marketing.
